Privacy Policy

QuitPilot ("we", "our", or "the app") is a quit-smoking companion application developed by Redjon Prengi. This Privacy Policy explains how your information is handled when you use QuitPilot on iOS or Android.

1. Information We Do NOT Collect

QuitPilot does not collect, transmit, or store any of the following:

• Personal identifiers (name, email, phone number)
• Location data
• Usage analytics or behavioral tracking
• Health data to external servers
• Financial information (payment details, bank accounts)

Advertising and Tracking

This app uses Google AdMob to display advertisements. AdMob may collect and use data to serve personalized ads, including:

• Device Identifiers (such as IDFA on iOS or Advertising ID on Android)
• Coarse Location data (derived from IP address)
• Usage Data (ad views, clicks, and interactions)
• Diagnostics (crash logs and performance data related to ads)

2. Information Stored Locally on Your Device

All data you enter into QuitPilot is stored exclusively on your device using local storage (AsyncStorage). This includes:

• Smoking profile: Cigarettes per day, cost per pack, pack size, years smoked, and currency preference.
• Quit tracking: Quit date, current streak, best streak, and mode status (Smoker or Quitter).
• Craving logs: Timestamps, intensity levels, and resistance records for craving events.
• Preferences: Language selection (English or Albanian), notification times, and display name (optional).
• Event history: A local log of quit attempts, slips, relapses, and resisted cravings.

This data is never transmitted to us or any third party. It exists solely on your device.

3. Notifications

QuitPilot uses local push notifications to send you motivational reminders and health milestone alerts. These notifications are scheduled entirely on your device using the operating system's built-in notification system. No notification data is sent to external servers.

4. Third-Party Services

QuitPilot uses the following third-party services:

• Expo Updates (OTA): The app may check for over-the-air updates through Expo's update service. This transmits only technical metadata (app version, platform) required to deliver updates. No personal data is shared.
• Google AdMob & Google Play Services

5. Data Retention and Deletion

Since all data is stored locally on your device:

• Deleting the app permanently and irreversibly deletes all your data.
• Using the "Reset Data" feature in Settings will erase all stored data within the app.
• We cannot recover your data because we never had access to it.

6. Your Rights and Choices

iOS Users: On iOS, you can limit ad tracking by going to Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking and disabling "Allow Apps to Request to Track". You can also reset your Advertising Identifier at Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking.

Ad Preferences: You can manage your ad preferences and opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings or via Google Ads Settings.

7. Children's Privacy

QuitPilot is not directed at children under the age of 13 (or the applicable age of digital consent in your jurisdiction). We do not knowingly collect information from children. The app deals with smoking cessation, which is inherently an adult health topic.

8. Data Security

Your data is protected by your device's built-in security measures (device lock, encryption). Since no data is transmitted over the internet, there is no risk of server-side data breaches. We recommend keeping your device's operating system up to date for optimal security.

9. Your Rights (GDPR & International Users)

Because QuitPilot does not collect or process personal data on any server, traditional data subject rights (access, rectification, erasure, portability) are exercised directly on your device:

• Access & Portability: All your data is visible within the app at all times.
• Rectification: You can edit your profile and preferences in Settings.
• Erasure: Use the "Reset Data" feature or uninstall the app.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected on this page with an updated "Last updated" date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
